I read an interesting article from The Street today: "Let the MP3 price wars begin".
Evidently, Amazon is going to start selling music that is free from digital rights management (DRM). Which means that it will be really easy to move your music from one device to another. When DRM software is involved, it can make it difficult to move material you have a right to from one medium to another.
I agree with the author Kevin Kelleher that there will be a push towards unrestricted music, and the balance from restricted to unrestricted will shift to the unrestricted. Evidently the unrestricted has higher sales.
